The Best Damn Chocolate Cookie Recipe

I love trying new ways to make the Best Chocolate Chip Cookie, and I think it will be hard to beat this recipe! The secret to making these cookies so damn good, is browning the butter. Browning the butter produces this delicious caramel, nutty flavour. Bringing the flavour to the next level good!
I also like that it only takes one bowl to make, and that I don't have to wait to soften the butter!
Therefore, these cookies can be made really anytime! That also could be a bad thing...lol

Ingredients:

1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp. maldon salt (or regular salt)
1 1/4 cup butter
2 large eggs at room temperature
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups chocolate chips

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375°.

In a large bowl, whisk the brown sugar, granulated sugar and salt to combine.

In a small saucepan, over medium heat, melt the butter. Whisking gently and consistently, keep cooking the butter as it foams. Remove from the heat when the butter starts to turn brown and smells nutty. This will take approximately 6 minutes in total. Pour the butter into the bowl with the sugars then whisk to combine well. Set aside to cool to room temperature, about 5-10 minutes.

Once the butter and sugar mixture feel lukewarm, whisk in the egg. (If your eggs are cold, place them in warm water at the start of preparation.) Add the vanilla extract.

Using a measuring cup, add flour and baking soda. Mix well. Add the flour mixture, and stir with a spatula until well combine. The consistency should be thick but spoonable. If it is too runny, place in the fridge for 15 -30 minutes to firm up.

Stir in chocolate chips.

Place 2 tbsp. rounds onto a parchment lined baking sheet. This recipe made approximately 28 cookies.
Bake until golden and firm around the edges, 12-13 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let cool on the tray for a few minutes. Transfer to a wire rack. Store in an airtight container if they don't eat them all before!
